Supplies for Globe Ice Lanterns

Any balloon will create a roundish lantern. Just make sure it is big enough to allow for at least a 4” pocket of air for the candle. The smaller the balloon, the more precise you will need to be about your timing. If you let the ice lantern freeze solid, it is nearly impossible to use.

When using dime store balloons, make sure that you put them in the shade. Those kinds of balloons will not do well given the freeze/thaw/freeze/thaw that can happen when they are place in the sun during the day.
